Welcome to this tutorial designed to assist you in locating journal articles found in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). These journal articles are open, and available to anyone and are a great supplement to the CCCOnline Library resources available to you.
Let's get started!
Take a look at the box on the upper right corner of the DOAJ homepage.
How many journals are available in the Directory of Open Access Journals?
On the homepage of the Directory of Open Access Journals, you'll notice a search box near the top of the page. In the search box is where you will type your search term, or keywords.
Enter "global warming" in the search box. Then hit the magnifying glass search icon.
This is the results screen. You can see that there are over 2,000 results for articles that have to do with global warming. That's quite a bit! Since it's too many to go through, let's narrow or focus our results.
First, locate "Full Text Language" on the left side bar. Click the + to expand the menu, and select English.
Now, let's focus the content of the articles. Global warming is pretty broad, so let's think about our topic.
We hope you've found the tutorial on how to use the Directory of Open Access Tutorials helpful. Please complete the following quiz. Upon completion, you will also receive a copy of your results via email.
